Interfaces that work for everyone.
I design and build accessible, usable front ends for large publishing platforms. Below are a few projects, each with the problem, my role and what changed.
Selected work
-
Accessibility remediation across 21 publisher sites
A repeatable WCAG audit and fix workflow for a shared publishing platform.
Front-end developer, accessibility lead
-
Drag-and-drop block editor for magazine articles
Conceived, designed, and implemented by myself a layout and interface for dragging blocks into place without touching HTML.
Front-end developer
-
Katina Magazine: a magazine experience for librarians
Our second magazine, and the first with its UX built from the ground up from agency designs and accessible from the outset. Built by me on the same platform as the Journals.
UX and front-end developer
-
Knowable Magazine: bilingual, image-led science journalism
Technically our first magazine, ported to our journal platform with largely the same markup and design. English and Spanish, funded by donations rather than a paywall.
UX and front-end developer
-
Annual Reviews: a search-first journal platform
A home page that starts with search and a scholarly article page that puts the key actions first.
UX and front-end developer
-
John Benjamins e-Platform: a dense, scholarly article page
A content-rich platform for e-journals, e-books and book series, with an article page built around how scholars read and cite.
UX and front-end developer
-
UN iLibrary: one platform for left-to-right and right-to-left reading
A publishing platform for United Nations content, built so the same pages work in left-to-right languages and in Arabic, which reads right to left.
UX and front-end developer
-
Microbiology Society home page redesign
A updated home page deisgn that mixes editor-controlled content in a new interactive design with live article data, so it stays fresh without a developer.
UX designer and front-end developer
-
Developer portal for builds and environments
One screen to build, run and promote every customer site across local, dev, QA and live-image environments.
Designer and developer
-
Playwright end-to-end coverage
